Description

At afternoon ( 1600 )..
Near road there is little pond .. We found 6 individuals of species. We played recorded call of same species there . On 2nd try one of the male from that pond started calling . It was responding to our recorded call

Description

Species of cricket from found in western ghats of India.
Medium sized frog with brownish coloration. Hind limbs overlap when folded at right angle to the body. Toes are webbed , 4th toe longest. Sub articular tubercle reaches in between tympanum and eye. Fingers are not webbed , 3rd finger longest and 2nd toe shortest. Tympanum present , supra tympanic fold present. rows of skin folds are present on back. Yellow thin strip present from snout to vent. Snout is pointed .

Description

Small frog with small mouth , yellowish body with dark arrow like marking on back. Dark grey coloration on throat.
Toes webbed but not fingers . 2nd hind limb finger ( toe ) longest , 3rd for limb finger ( Finger ) longest. Hind limb touches each other when folded at right angle to the body. Tympanum light colored and indistinct , indistinct supra tympanic fold .
Sited under rock.

Kokan Bush Frog , ( Raorchestes bombayensis ) ..
common species of Bush frog ( Rahcophoridae ) from western ghats of India. Small sized from ( SVL 20mm ) . Yellowish pink body with dark patch on head in between two upper eyelids. Tympanum is not so clear , Supra tympanic fold present . Webbing absent on fingers and toes , discs present on fingers as well as on toes . 3rd finger is longest. Hind limbs do not overlap when folded at right angle to the body. Black and yellow patch on interior region of hind limbs . Male with white vocal sac.

Description

IUCN VU Species... Goa ( India ) have large distribution of his species.
Vomerine teeth in two oblique groups just behind the level of the choanae. A free, pointed papilla on the middle of the tongue. Head moderate; snout obtuse, with obtuse canthus rostralis and concM e loreal region; nostril nearer to the end of the snout than to the eye; interorbital space a little narrower than the upper eyelid• tympanum distinct, two thirds the diameter of the eye. Fingers moderate, first not extending quite as for as second; toes two-thirds webbed, the web reaching the disks of the third and fifth toes; tips of fingers and toes dilated into small but well-developed disks; subarticular tubercles moderate; a single, small, oval inner metatarsal tubercle; no tarsal fold. The tibio-tarsal articulation reaches halfway between the eye and the end of the snout. Skin of back with small scattered longitudinal warts; a strong fold from the eye to the shoulder. Brown above, with small dark spots; limbs with dark transverse bands; lower parts white, throat mottled with brown. From snout to vent 1.25 inches.
