We found this alligator lizard while on our nature walk. It was fairly large, about 6 inches long. It was shade of olive, green, white, and a reddish brown. These colors combined to form an intricate pattern on its back

Northern Pacific Rattlesnake (Crotalus oreganus ssp. oreganus)Observer

This snake was dead in the road on the way to lake Sonoma. It was about 2.5 feet long and had circular spots up and down its back. Due to the area I found it in and the coloring of the stripes on its tail(light and dark brown) I was able to identify it as a northern pacific rattlesnake

These flowers were blooming on a large green vine. The vine was growing on a rocky hillside in direct sunlight. The flowers were magenta with shade of purple and were fairly small. The shape of them was very peculiar

Thirst flowers were growing near a small steam. The plant itself was about a foot tall and the flowers were about an inch tall. They were a vivid bluish purple and had an intricate design coming from the base of the pedal, which led me to think they were Douglas irises

I saw this snake slithering through some grass near a trail. It was fairly large, but I was never able to see the whole thing. I was only able to get one picture before it left but the coloring and stripes made it easy to identify

This plant was growing on a rocky bank next to a creek it was fairly small,about 3 feet tall and 3 feet wide. The leaves were very soft and resemble hair. The stems were somewhat like celery The plant smelled alot like licorice.

This bullfrog was in a large pond with several others. They were very spread out and were all croaking. I was able to catch this one. It was very large, about a foot head to toe with its legs out. It had an irregular spit pattern and was olive green

This Frog was with a few others in a small mud puddle. It was shades of light green and olive with many irregular dark spots. It's small size(about 1.5 inches) suggests that it is a juvenile

This dragonfly was flying around close to the ground in sunlight over gravel not far from a pond. It was moving alot so I only got one good picture of it. It was about an inch head to tail and was a vivid light green

These larvae were swimming around In standing water inside of a bucket. They were very small and hard to photograph. They swam with a wiggle motion but cling to the walls mostly. The water was uncovered and not in shade

I found this frog leaping across the driveway. It was light green and had no pattern but 2 brown stripes coming from mid body to the front of its head. It was fairly small, about a half inch from head to toe and wasn't very fat.

These flowers were fairly small, and were blossoming from a stem that weaved through a large shrub. They were very attractive flowers; mostly red with hints of pink. The stem they were attached to was more of a branch, coarse and brown

This plant was floating in a creek near my house it had very large leaves-about 10 inches long and 6 inches wide, and a long stem reaching to the bottom of the creek. The leaves were dark green along with the stem, but the stem faded to a yellow. The creek is very slow moving.
