Creeping Thistle (Cirsium arvense)Observer

For last 4 years, I’ve been seeing this species in this part of my fields. Previously, there was no invasive thistle on my property. I suspect seeds came in on a tractor that every couple years mows my fields. I’ve been managing this invasion, by trying to prevent it from flowering; regularly patrolling is section of the fields and pulling up any plants. I realize this won’t kill the thistle because of its ruinous growth pattern. But I’m hoping to keep from spreading by not letting it flower. This season, I’ve pulled up about 200 individual plants and repeated monitoring and pulling every could weeks till a hard frost.
