This was a bright blue bird. You can see it perched in the middle of the photo at the top of a branch. I realize this is not the Steller's Jay's habitat but it looked like a Steller's Jay and in the photo you can see that the head is black compared to the blue body. I have 2 videos with audio.

While hiking, suddenly this bird started flying over me and swooping down and calling, obviously because I had unintentionally come near its nest. I walked away. I have a video with audio, but I cannot upload that here. I may get a SoundCloud account so that I can somehow upload the audio only. I captured 3 images from the video and you can see the red tips on it's wings.
