This "nest/ egg sack" was hidden in between the leaves of a Bay Loral. I am not sure at all what insect created this "nest" but it had some crawling in and out of it. It had a yellowish white tint to it and was in the Savannah/ oak woodlands. It was about 2 inches wide.

It seemed to be sprouting and blooming. The leaves were covered in a very sticky residue and had an odor on the skin once touched. It had a dark mint color and the leaves grew out of the center. They were about a a .5-2 feet long and were all different. The plant was surrounded by dry grasslands and a creek near by.

A group of these beetles were located on the edge of a pond in rush and they are very still insects until they are disturbed. They crawl for a while and then rest in an area. I am not sure how to determine sex but some were a metallic blue and others were a metallic blue/purple.
