Description

I was driving down hwy about to cross over the Brazos River which is flooded due to recent heavy rains and flood gate opened at PK lake upriver. I had previously been birding the banks upriver and was heading home. I was in Palo Pinto County. I saw a large cat, longer than tall, longer than any cat or dog but maybe as tall as a large dog. It was crossing the hwy before the bridge and hesistated in hwy with all fours moving quickly then stops, sinking down to pavement and looking around quickly, very quickly like it was trying to escape danger of a typical like cat thing to do. It got to other side ok then had to go up the side of a steep high bluff, but didn't slow down, rather leaped up to the first ledge and scurried up the incline out of sight in the few seconds it took me to slow down and pull over at the crossing to look up. It was dark but could of been shadowy dark as I was looking in the sun direction though still high in sky. Its my first but know their have been sightings around the area which where I also live nearby that my neighbors have told me about.
