We observed the Courtship and mating behavior of the Buff striped keelback snake Amphiesma stolatum (a common species of colubridae in the India) in human habitat and agriculture land at Jahangirpura, Surat,Gujarat. Ten Buff striped keelback snakes were observed during courtship between 11.30-4.30 PM in a patch of primary Building Construction area near agriculture land. The 6 males were observed to interact with the female, but not signs of male-male agnostic interactions were observed. Their behavior includes grabbing and holding the female, copula, and jerking during the copula.
