Description

There is a Norway Spruce just south of Eagle Hall. I know it was a spruce and not a fir because the needles were not soft. Also from looking at leaf snap, I was able to identify the species by its bark

Date

September 21, 2016

Place

Graff Hall (Google, OSM)

Description

There is a Northern Catalpa or Catalpa speciosa on the South Side of Graff Hall right next to the walking path by Cartwright. The long string like pods are the intriguing feature of this tree. It is about 20 feet tall. It was about 70 degrees fahrenheit when i made this observation at about 7 PM. It was a humid night as it had been raining all day and the sky was cloudy
