What

Vascular Plants (Phylum Tracheophyta)

Description

It's cold and rainy and I saw a tree. I'm not sure what kind of tree it was though, but I now it was cultivated. It's growing in my backyard, and it's an adult tree. It's growing in soil and mulch, and it is growing to the sun. This tree is growing next to another tree, and some flowers are growing around the base of it. The leaves, seeds, and flowers aren't visible in the winter. But the trunk is, the trunk is about two inches thick, and fifteen feet tall. The trunk is round with little bumps every here and there. It is light brown with darker brown swirls around the trunk. It has many branches, and more branches coming out of those branches, and even more branches coming out of those branches. It is growing right next to our house, so it's like the tree has a support system that helps it grow straight up. Can you help me figure out what kind of tree this is?

Description

It's a cold and rainy day, and I saw some sort of moth. I don't know what kind of moth it was though, it was a wild moth. It was on my side door, it looked like it could have been sleeping, because it never moved even when I opened the door it was on. There was another moth flying around near where this moth was. But this sighting did not surprise me, because I see moths here all the time at night. I think this moth was an adult. It's head was about one eighth of an inch long and one sixteenth wide, it was round and pointy at the top. It was brown with a lighter brown around the outside of the head, it was sort of hidden under its wings, this could have been a method of protection. Its body was not visible because it has hidden under the moth's wings. Its wings were about three fourths of an inch long and they were paper thin. They sort of looked like upside down hearts, but stretched out upside down hearts. They were brown with a darker brown line through the middle and darker brown dots scattered around the wings. The moth had two wings, and they were so thin it looked almost impossible for the moth to be alive. The legs were each about one fourth of an inch long, they were very skinny, and pointy at the end. The legs were light brown with darker brown on the insides. The moth only had one leg visible, the others were under its body, but if I had to guess I would say say that the moth probably had six legs. The legs were sort of see through and pointed at the ends. Do you know what kind of moth this is?

It was a cool sunny day, and I think I saw a Willow tree in my backyard, but I'm not sure. It's growing in soil and mulch, it was growing up towards the sun. At the base of the tree are flowers, and another tree is growing next to it. Its leaves fall off in the winter, and in the winter it has no seeds or flowers. Its trunk is about twenty-five feet tall, and about three inches wide. The trunk is smooth with little lumps where it looks like other branches could grow out of. It is dark brown with little bits of light brown. There are a lot of branches growing off the trunk and more little branches growing off those branches. It looks like a very small tree because its trunk is so thin, but it is very tall.

This Japanese Maple tree is an adult, it has green and red leaves, and loses them in the winter time. The trunk is mostly dark brown with little swirls and lines of light brown. It is growing towards the sun. It has few bite holes in the leaves, but not many.
The tree is a little taller than my garage, so it is probably about 12 feet tall. It's leaves a e kind of star shaped, with points at the tips.
