Another rain storm, another milk snake! On 7-10-15, Sandra Davis-McQuilkin and I went out herping in Hockley County and caught a New Mexico Milksnake (Lampropeltis triangulum celaenops) at 11:37 PM, at 74 degrees just following a gentle rain. Another male, too.

SKMCQ-00017 Lampropeltis triangulum celaenops, juvenile male, collected live on 8/16/2012 by Sandra and Kyle McQuilkin on State Hwy. 54, .2 miles east of the Bailey County line, in Lamb County, Texas, 10:53 PM, in brisk rain, at 66 degrees. Died in captivity on 10/12/2012. Tissue and images shared with Anne Chambers, UT Austin; specimen sent to Mike Dixon, ASU San Angelo, 2015.
