Description

This was quite a sight to see the purple sunbird picking the flowers of a thorny shrub in the paddy fields. The shine and the flapping of the wings was absolutely beautiful to observe from a distance.

House Sparrow (Passer domesticus)

Place

Puducherry (Google, OSM)

Description

This female sparrow was carrying food for its young ones along with its mate in the other end. I was able to see spiders, grasshoppers, maggots and worms in the beak. It was a beautiful experience to see the turns they take to go out of the nest and come back to their young ones chirping with tiny voices. I did a small experiment by playing the sparrow call from my phone and was quite surprised to see the female converse with its male next to it. It was an absolute sight to watch them converse with each other. Here is a shot I was able to capture.
