Description

The California Sagebrush, also known as Artemisia californica, is found in Eaton Canyon, Pasadena. It is within a Sage Scrub community in which it was surrounded by other sage such as black and white. The California Sagebrush has tiny, green needle shaped leaves sprouting left and right of the stem. They also look like chicken feet. Sages have an odor to use as a defense mechanism to repel insects. Additionally, they have medicinal use as an herb, culinary usage, and recreational use to calm the senses and relaxing muscles at a spa.
