Red breast and body with blackish grey back and wings. Was found on a large snag on the North side of the main lagoon at Yesler Swamp. Remained on the snag for a wile in silence then started to chatter.

Had a dark green head, brown sides and a white chest. It's most noticeable trait was it's rather large bill and was sifting through the water in the lagoon at the swamp with a female.

The Western Skunk Cabbage is amongst the sedge grass. It looked like it was about to go dormant for the season.

These Mallards were also with a bunch of Wood Ducks as well. During a windy and kind of stormy day. Just floated in the water in a group.

Belted Kingfisher (Megaceryle alcyon)Observer

This bird was blue with what looked like a tuft of feathers on it's head. Had a white stripe around it's neck and a blue chest strip and a reddish brown belt of feathers. Possessed a rather large beak and would fly around the lagoon making a cackling noise.
