Description

called the Mountain Monkeyflower in John Muir Laws's book, listed therein as mimulus tilingii scrophulariaceae. I can find it on the internet but not within iNaturalist. Found on Nelson Creek between the Middle Fork and the Nelson Creek bridge on a gravel bar.

Description

A nice male specimen. Darker than the version found in the Laws field guide, but it's size and its blue eyes make it recognizable. Viewed near blackberries and willows on the valley floor at the base of the hillside.

Description

Growing at the edge of the yard in sunny spots near the forest. Only one in full bloom at the moment; others about to bloom or blooming sparsely. The Laws book shows a pronounced reddish stem, but these are only pale red in places. Blue anthers on the stamens are obvious. Cream to salmon to pale orange flowers.
