Eastern White Pine (Pinus strobus)Observer

3.5-4m tall tree spanning 2m at the base. Specimen doesn't feature many cones in lower 4m of height, likely due to dense shade on lower limbs from surrounding species. Growing in a recently cleared site among many Platanus occidentalis and Tulipifera liriondendron with a few sparse Pinus strobus within 20m.

3.5m tall specimen spanning 1.5m. Trimmed to maintain width. Growing in furthest NE corner of backyard 1m from fence. Planted in maintained landscaped bed area behind home flanked by mature hedges of Cupressocyparis leylandii and Ilex attenuata.

Clinging to dead Juniperus virginiana stump leaning at 45degree angle, approximately 3m in overall length. Not in flower at time of collection. Growing in thicket approximately 5m to the south and east of the SE portion of barrens trail.

3-4m tall tree spanning 2m at widest. Located to the SW of walking path opposite from barren entry point. Very recent brush clearing activity in this section of the trail has left specimen completely exposed on all sides. Exhibiting unusual growth habit by having sporadic limb placement. Bark shows very clear indication of U. alata.

Approximately 15m tall with a span of 8-10m. Bristle tips and furrowed bark typical of red oaks. Growing at northern edge of walking trail 200m into the barrens area. 3m North of trail prior to first SW turn in path. Flanked by dense Cedar/Oak-Hickory Forest.

Short shrub approx 1.5m tall spanning 4m total. Several specimens growing nearby along higher portion of creek bank. Densely shaded by large Platanus occidentalis. Bearing medium (3cm) white drupes in clusters. Typical pubescence on leaves.

Approx 4m tall with a span of 3m. Not substantial although alone in lawn with no direct competition. In full exposure, growing from a split in a large piece of limestone. Bark furrowing/protrusions indicative of Celtis sp. Although leaves smaller than typical. Fruit a small orange/yellow drupe.
