What

Vascular Plants (Phylum Tracheophyta)

Observer

zarab

Date

December 1, 2015 04:45 PM EST

Description

The trunk is about 1 foot in circumference, and is slightly rough, round, and like a cylinder. Its colors include light brown, from the bark, and light white green from lichen. There are about 30 branches coming off of the trunk, with smaller branches attached to those ones. Some special features it has include long, skinny branches or stems coming down from the smaller branches tips, which probably had berries or flowers on them in earlier, warmer seasons. The tree is in its mature, adult stage, but has no leaves, flowers, seeds, or cones due to the Fall and Winter. It is surrounded by dead leaves, probably from the tree itself, trees of the same species of that, and multiple pine trees.

Oaks (Genus Quercus)

Observer

zarab

Date

October 19, 2015 05:59 PM EDT

Description

The oak tree was not cultivated, and was in the mature life stage. The insect-plant interaction was that their were holes in some of the leaves, most likely eaten by an insect. The tree had dark green leaves with some holes, and some of the leaves had brown spots or splotches on them. The trunk was relatively thin, and had brownish bark. Also, some of the leaves had the slightest bit of a red, orange, and brown color at the tips, signs of fall.
