My father and other nature-loving persons started and encouraged my interest in nature quite early. Around 2009 I discovered macro photography and it was my vehicle for discovering insects and plants in detail and, if possible, to stage them beautifully in my photos. Concerning insects, I especially love dragonflies, butterflies and hymenoptera, but after all all creatures are fascinating, aren't they?
Meanwhile I left the city (Frankfurt/Main) and live about 50 km north from there and try to "map" plants, fungi and animals of the close region as well as possible, which is not much due to the fact I have to work as well ;)
It is shocking how small the number of insects in total and referring to species is compared to my childhood; I was born in 1967.
Our holidays, mostly in other parts of Germany and focused on trekking, serve as an opportunity to get some insight on flora and fauna of those regions.
I love my DSLR and macro lens despite the weight. And I'm sorry for my ongoing inability to produce proper smartphone pics, especially on windy days, but sometimes I don't have the option to use the DSLR.
Excuse my English which has become somewhat "rusty" over the decades since school. ;)
I also know some French and Hungarian.
