Have never seen the party responsible, but it seems to live on our yew. Or it might be Psyche casta (certainly an exact match in appearance), which eats grasses -- but the lawn is several meters from the sites where I've seen pupae. Bagworm caterpillars camouflage themselves with cuttings. Very small (~ 1 cm).
