Spider, about 1 cm long, with black head and abdomen, bright red thorax, and large palps. It was crawling on the siding of my house in the evening. Area is the Kenai lowland plateau, post-glacial terrain with many muskeg wetlands, and vegetation of mixed grassland, scattered spruce, and wetland shrubs. Immediate vicinity suburban grassy lawn and gravel driveway.
