I was leading a nature group on a Polar Bear trip on the tundra at Churchill, Manitoba, in early November, 2000. We saw a white-morph Gyr make a pass or two at some Willow Ptarmigans. The bird then landed on a rock several hundred yards away and I was able to get a few very distant photos. The images are not good but I think they will suffice for ID. Two shots provided, one is a crop of the more distant image. The distant image shows the scene through a 400 mm lens.
