Date

April 2015

Description

"Please see attached for photos of various whiptails found in Irvine, CA. These were first found in May of last year when my coworkers and I mistakenly identified them from afar as orange-throated whiptails, noting the oddness of the habitat (typical business lot with typical ornamental veg). I observed two different lizards last year.

"I then found them again in late April of this year after a year-long lull and tentatively identified them as Sonoran spotted whiptails. There is a population of at least four lizards if not more.

"They stay in the same general part of the parking lot and I see them often when I come outside walking on the asphalt or through the planters. They do not seem to care all that much if it sunny or overcast."
