I just learned this plant in the panhandle of Florida a few weeks ago: http://www.inaturalist.org/observations/1721300
Now I find it in this revegetated field in San Marcos, TX--apparently a first Hays County record at the W edge of the species range. There were at least 8 or 10 plants growing in an open grassland setting among scattered bottomland woodlands. This site has been revegetated over the past few years after the demolition of the former Aquarena Springs buildings and parking lots.
