What

Redstripe Ribbon Snake (Thamnophis proximus ssp. rubrilineatus)

Observer

Date

Description

I found this snake today at around 2:30pm. It was sunny (~10% cloud cover) and felt to be around 70°F. I found it next to a spring within a wash surrounded by grassy hills with sparse juniper, oak, and pecan forest. There were many tadpoles in the puddle downstream from the spring; the snake was possibly foraging on them. The snake was about 30cm (SVL).
