Description

Time: 4:30PM Weather: 73F Cloudy
This snake was found swimming underwater in a marsh. It was moving slowly, exploring the surface of the mud. It was close to the edge of the marsh. Years ago, I saw a DOR mud snake near this location and now I have confirmed their presence here. The snake appears to be an adult in good health. It has a double anal plate which, from what I've read, is not present in all mud snakes.
