Description

Chile (Capsicum annuum)

12 December 2015: A Mexican variety of Chile (Capsicum annuum) from the Sierra Madre Oriental in the vicinity of Tula, Tamaulipas, Mexico, come to reside in North Texas. Commonly called by several names in Mexico three of its most common names are chiltepin, chile piquin, and chile de monte, among others. And yes, with its widespread cultivation and native occurrence throughout North America, chile de monte is an original and authentic resident of the Western Hemisphere. Avondale Park is administered by the City of Denton, Texas.
