Occurrence: quite common in its habitat
Remarks on ID and taxonomy: Very similar to A. elongata but clearly separated from it by habitat - whiel A. alpina is an Alpine species A. elongata only grows in the lowlands.
Both species are also subsumed under A. maritima (as subspecies) and in my opinion both should be given subspecies status if one is; nevertheless, the Plant List gives A. alpina on the one hand but A. maritima subsp. elongata on the other one - my source Fischer gives both taxa as species in their own right.
