Description

image 3 shows a Magnificent Hummingbird behind the Green Violet-ear

We arrived at Paraiso Quetzal Lodge high in the mountains at midday. We were greeted by an absolute riot of hummingbirds at the feeders unlike anything I had ever seen. The three common species were Magnificent, Fiery-throated, and Green Violetear, with a smaller number of Volcano Hummingbirds. Other species may be found here on occasion, but these were the only four species we saw here in several days, but there were many hundreds of each.
