Rock Pigeon (Columba livia)
9 April 2016
Centennial Park
Irving, Dallas County, Texas
A resident of the world, Centennial Park's resident contingent of Rock Pigeons were courting one another as evidenced in this image of a male doing its courtship dance and stretching its body as high as it would go (or low as the dance step may call for) and extending its upper body's feathers and fanning its tail to make it appear larger than it is accompanied by a wholesome series of attractive calls. The female it seemed ignored this particular male's fancy display.
