Small, yellow, irregular flowerets clustered in a head. Leaves compound, alternate of three leaflets. Leaflets finely toothed along tip margin, with a characteristic bristle tip. Large stipules at base of each leaf.

Found sprawling across pebble littered hot, dry roadside near University of Akron Field Station at Bath Nature Preserve in Summit Co. Ohio.
