Male Wing-banded (Buff-banded) Antbird. Photographed at Rancho Plastico, Darién Province, Panama on 24 February 2019. I count myself as pretty fortunate to get this one nice photo of this strange bird. Everything about it is slightly disproportionate, but endearing for it! Rather uncommon and with a fragmented range it's generally hard to catch up with. I'd seen it on just a couple of occasions before this, in east Venezuela and east Amazonian Brazil, but this was my first photo opportunity. Certainly in the top five for birds of the trip... Subspecies stictoptera.
