The only species of Juga described from this region of California is Juga nigrina, but after finding multiple individuals here, all of them were more elongate and richly brown in color than anything indicated in the J. nigrina descriptions and photos I found. Additionally, J. nigrina is thought to be a cryptic species complex, so until a more thorough revision of the genus is done, I believe that leaving these Juga sp. is the most prudent course.
