I found this and about 35 other Greater Yellowlegs in one flock when I heard their piercing calls from across Herrick's Cove while kayaking. I don't remember ever hearing this call before, so I investigated. I have video of this one bobbing its head and of the flock standing in shallow water with most heads facing the wind. Some were napping. Some were washing. When they washed they often flapped their wings, lifted up then dropped back into the same spot I have video and photos of about 30 of them taking flight and returning to the same spot. Made my day! This was the first time I'd seen Greater Yellowlegs, so I was not sure about their ID.
