Man-made lakes are engineered to add scenery and contribute to the water cycle in many suburban neighborhoods, city parks, and public settings throughout the nation. Specifically, in Myrtle Beach, SC man-made lakes are known to attract different species of animals from various phylum, class, order, and families.

Some man made lakes experience primary and secondary succession once built. In this project, you will make observations on your own (outside of class, or given class time) and upload them to iNaturalist, near or in a man-made lake. Make as detailed observations as possible (length, weight, color) and always keep a safe distance from wild life if necessary. I have provided some examples of observations I have made on my own.
