CoastBlitz Waitara is a component of the Curious Minds project “Titiro tui muri, haere whakamua”- Look backwards to move forward. For the project, community members will gather and analyse a combination of historic and current local knowledge and scientific data in relation to the reefs of Waitara, Taranaki. Through looking back at how natural changes and human impacts have affected reef communities, the community will formulate ideas on what can be done to protect reef health in the future.
