The Bio-Blitz is open to the general public, and no previous experience is necessary. People of all ages and skill levels are welcome! Help fellow biomimics, naturalists and citizen scientists document and identify trees, shrubs, fungi, birds, insects, butterflies, moths, mammals, worms, flowers, snails and every living species we can identify. We'll talk about biomimicry function and tag some observations.
Bring your smartphone with the iNaturalist app downloaded. Also bring a camera, magnifying glasses, binoculars, curiosity, wonder and tons of enthusiasm. We’ll enter observations in iNaturalist and join together at the end to find out how many observations we made and how many species we found. The observations will directly contribute to climate change, conservation and biodiversity science initiatives and provide valuable research data today to inform the decisions of tomorrow.
What will YOU discover?
