For disturbance-adapted and fast-colonising species on stoney, braided riverbeds and associated young terraces, exposed mud, silt or sand around low-flowing streams, lakes or ponds, and river or stream banks. The vegetation is scattered grass, cushion, mats, forb or moss and shrubs on older surfaces, sometimes willow growth, but excludes mature forest.
