Problem
There are currently two (2) lakes in Greater Sudbury that have been infested with the invasive spiny waterflea, Bythotrephes longimanus.
I am concerned that the next lake to be invaded will be my lake, Long Lake. Long Lake is located in the Panache Watershed so is part of a direct water ‘highway’ for the transportation of this invasive, non-native species.
I wonder if I can find this spiny beast, also known as the spiny waterflea, Bythotrephes longimanus, in Long Lake?
For that matter, what other lakes in Greater Sudbury have any spiny waterfleas?
Please help me in finding any spiny waterfleas in Greater Sudbury!
