Help Nature Thrive Colwich Parish's Journal

April 25, 2024

Join us on Sat 27th April 24 on a walk with iNaturalist as part of City Nature Challenge

Sustainability in Colwich & the Haywoods (SinCH) are running a Green Walk – Help us identify spring plants and insects on Saturday 27th April 2024. (Meet at Great Haywood Memorial Hall at 1.30 pm)

We will be starting at 13.30 at the Memorial Hall with a quick overview of iNaturalist and how to use it.

We’ll then take a walk around areas which haven’t yet been surveyed for the local Help Nature Thrive project and you can help us build up the picture of the biodiversity we currently have. You will also help Staffordshire Wildlife Trust’s contribution to the national City Nature Challenge which is taking place the same weekend.

Whilst we believe that the Memorial Hall has wi-fi we recommend that you download and register the App at home prior to the event.

What is Help Nature Thrive in Colwich?

This project maps the flora and fauna within Colwich Parish (UK) as part of our Help Nature Thrive campaign which supports Colwich Parish Council's Green Infrastructure Plan.

By working with residents the aim is to give nature a helping hand by protecting and enhancing our green spaces and therefore supporting biodiversity.

Please add your observations so we can build up a full picture of the flora and fauna we have locally. This will help us work out what is best to do to support and improve biodiversity.

If you would like more information about what the project is about or the on-the-ground work we are doing please get in touch with HelpNatureThrive@colwichparishcouncil.gov.uk
