This project encourages visitors to the park to observe and document biodiversity of an ongoing urban ecological drainage restoration. Observations may be of amphibians, birds, insects, fish, fungi, plants and trees, reptiles, and wild animals. Please no photos of human visitors.

Howard Herman Stream Valley Park is a 4.2 acre floodplain forest along the Coe Branch stream, a tributary of Tripp’s Run in the City of Falls Church that underwent a “daylighting” and realignment in 2015. More than 5,300 individual native plants from many local eco-type species were planted in 2016.
