IUCN Red List Category: LC (Draft 2015-02-16)
Animalia | Chordata | Vertebrata | Amphibia | Anura | Megophryidae | Leptolalax | Leptolalax pelodytoides |
Taxonomic notes: A number of different forms are currently included in Leptolalax pelodytoides that might prove to be taxonomically recognizable.
This species is known only from 800-1000 m Asl in Karin Bia-Po and Thao, Karin Hills, Myanmar (Ohler et al. 2011). Its distribution had previously been thought to be much larger with many populations spread accross six countries, however molecular data in Ohler et al. (2011) do not support the historic allocation of these additional populations to L. pelodytoides.
The species was described in 1893 from three specimens (Boulenger, 1893). Since then, no data has been published about the size or trends of its population.
No threats have been specifically identified for this species, nor is there evidence that its potential threats have been investigated.
Listed as Least Concern in view of its wide distribution, and its presumed large population.
