Over the course of this project, there may be occasions when your observations are not properly linked to or become unlinked from the project website. For example, if the GPS coordinates of any of your September observations were slightly outside the Broadmoor boundary, they were not synced to the project (an issue that has now been corrected). Or, if you unintentionally leave the project, your observation data will become unlinked (though it will remain on your personal observation list).
In the event that you need to add or re-add observations to the project, you can follow the procedure below.
(instructions provided by R. Kent)
To add Observations from “by you” to the Project:
- Go to the iNaturalist website (iNaturalist.org) and log in
- Click your user name (top right of page) and then click 'Observations' (under 'Your Profile' heading). Alternatively, you could select 'by you' from Observations drop down list at the top

To add Observations from “by you” to the Project:
- Go to the iNaturalist website (iNaturalist.org) and log in
- Click your user name (top right of page) and then click 'Observations' (under 'Your Profile' heading). Alternatively, you could select 'by you' from Observations drop down list at the top of the page – either way, you will get a list of all your observations (iNaturalist refers to this list elsewhere as your “life list”)
- Select 'Batch Edit”
- To re-add all of your observations, select 'All' – this will “check” all the individual sightings in your list. Or, if there are specific observations you want to add, simply check the boxes next to those observations.
- Once you have checked all observation you want to add, select 'Add to
- project'
- Select 'Add' to Observations at Broadmoor 2.0 - note: for future reference that you can remove sightings by following the above and just check the ones you want deleted and select “remove”
The “batch edit” process matches the checked observations against any previously entered observations you made to the project. If it finds new information it adds/edits as appropriate. – Note that duplicate entries are recognized and not re-entered. A nice validation check that seems to work well. Any observations you made remain in your life list after adding to the project.
