Part science, part education, part festival - ReefBlitz 2015 is your opportunity to become a champion for our wild species and spaces!
ReefBlitz aims to improve understanding of the impacts of climate change and marine debris on the biodiversity of the Great Barrier Reef.
Individuals, schools, community groups, and businesses are invited to take part in scientific surveys on the Reef, promoting community stewardship and helping to develop sustainable communities that support Reef management.
ReefBlitz basecamp will be located at the Celebrate the Reef event in Brigadier North Park, Jezzine Barracks. Visit the ReefBlitz basecamp to join additional surveys, help with species data entry, hear from local experts and citizen science groups on a variety of topics, and learn more about Earthwatch and the Great Barrier Reef Foundation.
Bring: Sunscreen, a water bottle, a hat, closed-toe waterproof shoes, clothes that can get dirty, smartphone, binoculars, and snorkel gear (snorkel survey participants only).
