The Resource Conservation District of Greater San Diego County is encouraging local schools, community spaces, and residents to plant native milkweed in their gardens to create essential habitat for Monarch butterflies and other pollinators.
We also want to learn more about Monarchs in San Diego - when are we seeing them in our gardens (how early or late into the year) and what are their migration habits?
Please help us by:
- Documenting (with photo if possible) Monarch caterpillars in your garden, including the dates observed.
- Documenting (with photo if possible) the Monarch butterflies in your garden, including the dates observed.
- Recording the number of milkweed plants growing in your garden.
