While monitoring juvenile salmon in the Lagunitas Watershed a pacifastacus leniusculus (signal crayfish) got into the monitoring trap. The signal crayfish is an invasive species to the Lagunitas Watershed.
The one observed was a female carrying juvenile under her tail.
More Douglas's Irises than ever before blooming on our property, north-facing mountainside, fairly damp, shaded environment (mixed forest of oak, bay, Douglas Fir, some madrone). As of May 8, still blooming.
Found dead from unknown cause along the Cross Marin Trail into Samuel P. Taylor State Park.
