Giant centipede are some thing I normal see from the corner of my eye as they scurry off to hide. So I was surprised to find this one that was very sluggish. Mind you, would you go charging about if blind.

Description

Cormocephalus rubriceps is a large centipede of the family Scolopendridae, endemic to Australia and the North Island of New Zealand. At up to 25 cm in length, it is the largest centipede in New Zealand. It can deliver a poisonous bite using its razor sharp pincers.
