This toad was found in a forested area in the Hiyare Rainforest with several other endemic amphibians and reptiles notably the endemic frog Lankanectes corrugatus, and endemic snake Cercaspis carinatus.
Bufo atukoralei is a species of toad in the Bufonidae family. It is endemic to Sri Lanka. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical moist shrubland, swamps, freshwater marshes, arable land, pastureland, plantations , rural gardens, urban areas, and heavily degraded former forest.
