Micrixalus phylophilius - Nilgiri Dancing Frog
This juvenile frog was observed during the day on the forest floor in a wildlife sanctuary south of Agumbe,India in the Western Ghats.
Found on vegetation close to a stream at 20:00hrs
A small frog, less than 1 inch.
Forests North Canara to Travancore and Tinnevelly.

Micrixalus is a genus of frogs from that are endemic to India. They are monotypic within family Micrixalidae. Before being raised to the family level it was considered to be subfamily Micrixalinae in Ranidae. Both the genus and the family are sometimes known by the ambiguous common name "tropical frogs".
