Nototriton abscondens found in the canopy at approx. 2050 m asl. Specimen was buried in canopy "mud" along a horizontal branch, between a tree limb and a layer of moss/epiphytic mat. Limb radiated out from approx. 7 m up the main bole. Limb diameter: ~30cm, accounting for epiphytic mat- ~45cm.

Nototriton abscondens is a species of salamander in the Plethodontidae family. It is endemic to Costa Rica.
