This dwarf caecilian (adult length 8-10 cm) was found crawling out in the open at 11:00 am [air temperature was approximately 21-22 degrees C, with overcast skies] in a forested area approximately 3 km north of Puerto Santana, (15 km northeast of Cuenca) Ecuador.

Description from Wikipedia

Microcaecilia albiceps is a species of amphibian in the Caeciliidae family. It is found in Colombia and Ecuador. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, plantations, rural gardens, and heavily degraded former forest.
