Observed a tiny brown snake (Northern Brown Snake?).
Warming up in the sun on a mild March day. A local freshwater wetland dweller.
A Northern Brown Snake at Sachuest Point NWR.
Found dead and half buried in recently disturbed soil (part of wetland/stream restoration work). It was alongside the remains of a Northern Redbelly Snake. Perhaps they were together in a hibernacula that was dug up? I believe both species are know to utilize ant mounds together.
Saw this on a side road near my house. There's a field along the road and have seen snakes on the road various times.
This snake looked to be just over a foot long. It was grey with a lighter spine and black dots running along the spine. He was crossing a concrete path when I saw him.
